Default New model Juki quilting machine

Has anyone heard anything about a new quilting machine to be marketed by Juki soon? I saw a clip in a Facebook group earlier today, but it seems to have been deleted now. It looked like a quilting version of one of their industrial machines, something like the DDL series. The harp is 12 inches wide, and seems to be at least 6 inches high. Apparently it comes with a table. According to the clip I saw, it was featured by Juki at the Savannah QuiltCon.

Would love to hear from any of you quilters who were at the show and happened to see this machine.

UPDATE OF NEW JUKI QUILTING MACHINE:

I have been able to get a bit of information directly from Juki. The new machine will be the DDL9000C. It will be a computerized quilting machine, with a 12 in. wide harp. I was told that the harp height will be a little shorter than the TL2200QVP.

Juki is presently "testing the waters" with this machine, by featuring it at shows across the country. They expect to introduce it later this year, if reception at these shows is positive.

Price should be a bit lower than the sit-down version of the TL2200QVP.

I'll certainly follow this up with my contact at Juki, and willl post any new information.

Patricia

Thank you for the information about the Juki. It sounds like an interesting machine.

If they can keep the price down like the 2010, it will be a welcome machine. I'd love a 12 inch harp.

I wouldn't hold my breath! LOL. The new machine is computerized, while the 2010 is strictly mechanical.

The computerized HZL-DX7 which has a harp of 8.5 inches x 5.5 inches sells for about $1,399 U.S. Of course it's not straight stitch only. It has a lot of decorative stitches.

Juki has indicated that the new machine will be a bit lower in price than the TL2200QVP sit down, which sells for about $5,500 U.S. !!! ... I was hoping for a price somewhere halfway between the TL2010 and thee TL2200QVP.

I guess we'll to wait and see.

P.S. I don't understand why they cannot come up with a mechanical machine like the TL2010, but with a harp something like 12 in. x 8 in., and at a reasonable price.

That's something I have never understood either. Some of the antique machines have large and tall harps. So it was possible at one time. I have always wondered why other companies don't look at the 2010 success (my favorite machine) and at least tried to duplicate it. Maybe one day, they will wise up to quilters needs.

JUKI has decades of industrial machine knowledge/experience, and the TL2010Q is truly a semi-industrial machine. While some other brands offer straight stitch machines, they pale in comparison to JUKI quality.

Imo, other companies focus on computerized machines bc they are more profitable, short and long-term (built-in obsolescence).

You're probably right about the profitability of computerized machines. On the other hand, Juki must be aware of the popularity of their mechanical TL series machines. Quilters just love them. I can't help but think that if Juki came up with a mechanical straight stitch machine with a 12 in. x 8 in. harp, it would sell like "hot cakes" ...

We can only hope.
