Default Too much Yellow for the Cat in the Hat?

    Hello,

I acquired some Yellow Cat in the Hat Minky and put together this Wonky Cat In the Hat quilt top but was told the yellow border was too much. Here are pics of the quilt top and backing. I plan on having a bright red binding. I am not a big fan of yellow so perhaps it might be too much?

    Thanks for looking!

It doesn't look like too much to me. The whole quilt is screamin' bright and fun, so the bright yellow works fine, in my opinion.

    I love Dr. Seuss.

It's not too much for me, especially if you add red binding!

I think it is adorable. Maybe bind it in red?

I think it 's great. There does seem to be an old quilter's taboo about yellow--any shade. But I think if you want cheerful and fun, use yellow. I like the red idea too. Ahem, my family room is a pale yellow with some red accessories.

I love it. I think the yellow looks mute compared to the rest of the colors and makes them stand out. Awesome.
