I'm making a baby quilt using the chenille-ing technique. After matching all the flannels and cutting straight edges, I've got a square 35" on each side which I think is too small.
I'm trying to think of something to do on the edges that would make it bigger but the chenilling is stumping me. Any ideas??

Could you post pictures of the quilt? We are a visual bunch.

I guess I would try a border - maybe of the top fabric. I think the difference in texture could be pretty and add another element to the quilt. Good luck.

I cannot - my daughter is on a student exchange in Russia with my digital camera.
Here is the pattern of sewing (you sew 1/2 in apart and then cut between the sewing lines to create the chenille)

I had thought of a border but the body is 4 layers of flannel (you cut the top three to get the chenille). How do I make the border match in thickness?

Use three or four layers for the border. You can sew more than one layer as if it were a single layer of fabric. Or you could put batting just in the border.

What about using Minky or another type of fleece for the borders? :D:D:D
