Check out the Jelly Roll Race quilt: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2bEJLnaZQOU

I made one using scraps of varied lengths and colors (all cut 2-1/2" wide), rather than a Jelly Roll. It is fast, fun and easy!

Judi in Ohio.. I don't understand the double post of pictures either. Noticed this started happening last week. Maybe a qlitch in the quiltingboard.com system?

My absolute favorite pattern is Boxed Squares. I have made it eleven times and am working on number twelve. It's incredibly easy, but can be very impressive with lots of color. 2 1/2 x 2 1/2 and 2 1/2 x 6 1/2.

When I am out looking for inspiration, I go to Google and would do a STRING QUILT search and then click on the Photo Gallery. Thee are so many patterns and you have to find what you will enjoy making. Have fun !!

Yes, thank you! That is exactly what I was talking about.

I've been a student of Bonnie Hunter's site and made several jelly roll race quilts (don't really want to do them again--I think I've made 5 or 6 out of 2.5" strips from before). I've also already made a split 9 patch (rather large one in fact) and some of the others mentioned.

However, I really appreciate the ideas and esp. when you all give websites. Thanks I'll check them all out!

Summer in the park is really pretty depending on length of the strips. Jenny Doan on Missouri Star Quilt Co has a video how to do them

Outside the box: Make rugs or fabric baskets (fabric twisted around clothesline.)
