Tuesday Morning Knock off fabric
Hello Ladies, I thought i would come to you first for advice. I found knock off Riley Blake Farm Fresh precuts at my Tuesday Morning store. They had the same Farm Fresh name but from a different company and it said made in China. Do you think they would hold up in a quilt? The looked very close to my real fabric as far as color. And they were priced very nicely!
Thanks!
Thanks!

If it were me, I'd use it. If it feels good to me and I like the look, I use it. Many people will disagree because of concerns of how the quilt will last in 40 years. It may be a valid concern, but I just don't worry about it. I love to make quilts but have to stretch the money where I can so I use what I can afford. Do what feels right to your sense of style and budget.

Please correct me if I am wrong, but there are no American Mills, everything comes from Chine/Japan/the Orient....
so just let your fingers tell you...and perhaps hold up to the light.....

I think of this more as a moral and legal issue. To me it's a question of whether I would buy it at all. I would not, and I would let Moda know about these counterfeits. It's not legal for them to just copy another company's fabric designs. If you let Moda know, you might even get rewarded with some of the genuine fabrics.

The store was Houston, Texas near my work. I have often found good items like ric-rac and other goodies. If I report it to Riley Blake, what information would I need to supply? They felt okay, but I sometimes worry about how they feel before it has been washed. I have been told that the sizing/chemicals can make it feel different. But I don't know. After flipping thru them I did see that the color / print was a little off on some of the patterns, but not that noticeable.

I bought the same fabric, in fat quarter bundles, tan colored, from Tuesday Mornings. The selvage says Riley Blake and and manufacturer, the same as the selvage on the Riley Blake fabrics I have that I bought from a quilt shop. Why do you think it is a knock off? I don't think it is or the quilt shop is selling a knock offs too. Most big name fabric brands are manufactured in India, China or Pakistan. Tuesday Mornings buys overstocks and warehouse buy outs from high end stores and shops. Fun fact: Tuesday Morning sells a lot of their not sold items to Big Lots. I found fat quarter towers at Big Lots that were the same at Tuesday Mornings a season past for pennies on the dollar.
