    Default turkey table runner

I found this pattern on Pinterest this morning and spent the day cutting and ironing on little pieces. It's 16 1/2" square. Tomorrow I will finish the edges with a zig zag stitch. I'm not sure how I should finish the rest of the table runner. Extra blocks? strips? Any ideas?

Nicely done, perfect fabric choices! I would finish with something simple so that the turkey stands on its own. Rather than blocks, I would simply add whatever length of fabric to each end to get the length you need. Possibly something like the 10-minute table runner. You can find several tutorials for that on Pinterest, including one that shows it with strip tube squares in the focus/center. Replace that with your turkey, centered on length needed, and adjust width (I think it usually starts with a 10 or 12 inch center strip and an 18 inch backing/border fabric - so if your turkey is 16", you'd probably need a 24" backing border).

Great turkey! I think a plain fabric section on each end would be nice. If you use the lighter batik, you could appliqué or embroider Happy Thanksgiving on if you wanted.

He is too cute to be called a turkey! Love him. IMHO I think plain batik on each side to make it the length you want. You don't want to detract from this adorable guy. He deserves to stand alone

WOW you are a quick worker. To find it, copy it and sew it on one day is very impressive.

If you are up for it, another turkey for the other end of the runner, with something like leaves or corn between. Turkey tracks on the border? You have made a fine start for whatever you do.
