I hand-quilted an outline stitch around the flip-flops, and machine quilted in the ditch for the rest. I'll get the picture posted when my hubby gets home soon to help me. I have this fear that I will blow up the computer if he's not close by!

I think it looks great as a border.

I love the border you have with it, and I was going to suggest a 1" border to off set it, but you're ahead of me.

Be sure to pre-wash the border.

funny you said that. i found a bright pink floral border in my stash and at the last minute before cutting i remembered it hadn't been prewashed! didn't take long. the light blue border was prewashed when the rest of it was.

thanks for looking out for me everyone!

I thought, at first that you had purchased a kit because the fabrics look so good together!
There are so many different fabrics used now a days, I think its a matter of personal taste.

Have you gotten enough affirmations yet? It looks Mah-velous!!!

You use whatever fabric you like!!! Great choice! And I have seen this pattern finished with beads and ribbon trim popping out as the straps on the flip flops. Not really washable that way, but it sure was cute!
