Default San Antonio Quilt Shops to visit?

I'm going to be in San Antonio next week and have found some quilt shops on line. But not sure I will be able to get to each one. What is the best one to hit for sure? We will be staying in the northwest area of San Antonio off 410. I found Seventh Heaven Quilt Shop, Las Colchas Quilt Shop, Memories by the Yard, Cat's Meow Quilt Shop & Sew Special Quilt Shop. I'm not into the Civil War or reproduction stuff, but I do like to look at new patterns and see quilts already done for inspiration. Thanks in advance for any great shop ideas.

I will be watching this thread, as I will be visiting SA this summer, and will of course want to visit the quilt shops as well.

I was in San Antonio a few years ago looking for fabric. I found quilt shops with fully made quilts, but no fabric.
You might want to check if they have fabric and notions before you go to them.

All of the above are good but Las Colchas does specialize in Civil War. Also Cat's Meow no longer has fabric. It is a longarm shop & a Gammill sales rep owns it. Outside of San Antonio in Bandera is Gone Quiltin' which is good. In Kerrville, is Creations and in Castroville is Fabric n' Friends. I prefer the ones outside of San Antonio for their uniqueness and location. I live out in the country. Hope this helps.

In New Breunfles there are two quilt shops, both are great. I don't remember their names but the one is in the small shopping mall right off 35. They have tons of fabric and threads. They also have a backroom with lots of mark-downs. I always find something there as we are headed south to the Rio Grande Valley. The San Antonio shops are good too. Have fun.

Thanks so much. I had a brief moment to just look up names and address on them but hadn't had a chance to really look around their website. I will look up these others that you mentioned.
Thanks everyone, I hope to come home with some different fabbies that I havent seen before.

I haven't been to the shops in New Braunfels, but there is the oldest bakery in Texas just down the street from the downtown quilt shop. Naegelin's specializes in strudel (apple, cherry, and peach). It is awesome. You will need some fortification after all the shopping!

Memories by the yard is on the northwest side and a very nice shop. One of the New Braunfels shops is Quilt Haus -- it's off IH 35 in an old outlet mall. I LOVE Creations in Kerrville!!
