I visited a very elderly lady this past week that does nothing but sit and hand piece quilts. She showed me her new ones and one was a bow tie quilt, but there were I think 4 bow ties in each seperate block. She said it was in a book, but didn't know where her book was or the name of the book. It started with 2 bow ties end to end and then another on top and one on the bottom, I think. Does anyone know anything about this bow tie quilt layour?

If the bowties radiate from the center, it was first published by the KC Star in 1932 and was called Necktie.

If the four bowties go in the same direction it was first published by the Ladies Art Companty in the late 1800s and was called True Lovers Knot

No, don't think they radiated from the center. I printed out a bow tie pattern so I can play with it and maybe come up with what I think I saw. Never have a camera when I need one.

There is also a bow tie quilt called Bow-dacious in Bonnie Hunter's new book. I have the book and am doing this quilt for my self.

The book is great!

Try this site and see if it's any of these.
