Yay! I'm finally joining you all for a virtual quilting weekend, and love seeing what everyone is working on. Mine is a tee shirt quilt for a great niece who is graduating from high school this May. She sent me all of her volleyball tee shirts, and some of them were so pretty it was difficult to cut them up. Also, it's turning out a lot bigger than I'd hoped, but she's a very tall young lady. I plan to do some machine embroidery on it too. I'll try to post a picture when I'm done.

This morning was my Featherweighter's group. I'm working on a string quilt that will be called "Utter Chaos" because I'm just pulling out strips from a box and adding them in - this is a community service quilt. Tomorrow is the Linus Project's "Make a Blanket Day," so I'll be at the library all day working on whatever the challenge quilt turns out to be. I also need to keep cutting blocks for my niece's wedding quilt - just a three block Rail Fence, but it's going to be a lot of blocks! Hmm, I also have about 10 UFO's waiting - probably won't get to those!

Got the Frozen kit out after doing some cleanup and started checking it. Checked the center panel with a ruler - it's not square. So figure out where to cut it, not dimensions pattern gives. Make sure I have enough material if I cut the panel a little larger. Nicked my finger on the rotary cutter - forgot to close it Got everything cut but going to work on some hand embroidery this evening. Things will go smoother tomorrow.

Looking forward to seeing everyone's photos. I managed to get one block machine quilted this afternoon. I did two rows of stitching after the SITD around the blocks, and then stitched around the outside of the penguin design and then went in and did a couple lines to define the stocking. I'm not a big fan of heavy thread quilting so am pleased with this 1st quilted block.

I've gotten this far on the mystery train quilt. I see a mistake in the second row that needs correcting. Now to decide whether to assemble it like this or put in a constant neutral sashing with black cornerstones. Will decide tomorrow morning.

Then I realized I have a quilt on the design board, so instead of working on the strip quilt, I'll make the blocks I need to finish this beauty. It was a block swap on another board and is the log cabin flying geese pattern from MSQC.

I need to put a border on the on point lattice top I've been working on the past couple of months, it'll go on the FattBatt I got from Joann's months ago and finished somehow on my small Janome (it's queen size, I must be crackers lol). I want some kind of quilting on it but may have to just tack it if it gives me as much trouble as I expect.

I have to finish my work cleaning the garage and I cannot wait to get back to quilting. I have the fabric and pattern all ready out on cutting table.

Perfect timing, DH is out of town and I have the whole weekend to sew, tonight I have been working on repairing a old child's quilt for a friend and tomorrow I plan to start cutting fabric ( Shirts ) for a memory quilt for my kids and a niece. So hand work tonight and on the machine tomorrow. Will post a picture of the repaired quilt in the morning.
