Virtual Quilting Weekend -- July 31-Aug 2, 2015

Wow what great ideas for that fabric! I have to work but I still get some work done. I have sold all my quilts and now need to get more made. I am thinking about making another raffle quilt for the museum and hopefully get some volunteers involved too. The only problem is what to do? Gardening with flowers and veggies, birds and bird houses, cats and dogs, horses, eagles, under the ocean......?? Too many choices, I'll have to see if the volunteers have any favorites.

I'm in again this weekend. Bonus is the DH is on a business trip out of town, and I have the whole house to myself. I was planning on sewing this weekend anyway this just gives me company. Need to get the memory quilts going and clean up my sewing room a bit. Weather in MN is great for indoors or outdoor things this weekend. With luck I can get the memory quilts about 1/4th done. (there are 8 of them) Do need to check the gardens, the tomatoes are starting to ripen and so are our beans. So may have to do some canning this weekend also.

I think the Shenandoah fracture would look better with that fabric than the Fantasia one unless you could make the contrasting strips narrower than the Fantasia pattern uses.
I'm in. This will keep me at the machine FMQ one quilt made with the Fantasia panel and at the other machine piecing the second identical quilt when FMQ gets too warm. Wedding quilts for two grandsons. I like the panel so much I didn't look for anything else. Now I want one for me.

I'm sort of doing a quilting weekend - I finally got a few more "rows" for the Row By Row, and am trying to get them together. Three of the rows are from shops that had someone win already, but five are from shops still waiting, including the one closest to me. Hoping to get the floppy done tomorrow and get it on the long arm Sunday.

Here's what I've been sewing today... (first picture) not quilting but I need to finish it before I change my machine over for quilting. You can see the sleeves are not yet attached. Once I get them on, I can move on to (second picture) this sandwich, ready to quilt!

I have never done the VQW before but sounds like fun. I need a little push to get some projects finished. I have been in a quilt challenge for almost 6 months & we got the final block yesterday & will get the sashing today. So I have 2 of those to finish & hopefully quilt them Monday. I also have several UFO's around here to finish so will see what I can get done.

Our guild has a Sew day the first Saturday of each month. We start at 10 am. and quilt til we wilt!)
I will be working on making binding strips. I also have a Christmas Block to finish stitching around the applique. I may get around to attaching the binding to a small quilt if I don't talk too much. Happy Quilting to all!
