I have always wanted to make an outdoor quilt. I thought of using the nylon fabric that kites and flags are made of. That way it will handle the weather and sun. It would have an 'Amish' appeal, like one big star from the solid colors this fabric comes in.

I made awnings from out door fabric I bought at JoAnns now that I think about it and it comes in many very nice prints. This fabric is specific for out door use.

My awnings held up well in direct sun all season last year and will hang them again. Hope this helps.
