I just returned from WalMart and had to let you all know. If your WM still has fabric, you should check this out. They have recently marked down bolts and bolts of fabrics to $2 and $3. Now I know some of this isn't the greatest fabric and I certainly wouldn't use it for a quilt, but a lot of it is nice fabric that they were selling for much more. I found some really nice patterns. For that price, you can't beat it.

Our walmart marked down the fabric collection from their free patterns they offer each month to $1 a yard!! They had some batiks for $2 a yard too. I saw a lady in there buying over $100 worth of it. She said her quilt guild was making quilts to send to Japan with it. I got some too and it is a nicer quality than their cheapo fabrics are. If I would have had more money with me I would have bought some full bolts!! It was as good or better quality than what Joanns's is charging $4.99 for. I did buy 15 yards and went back yesterday and got another 12 yards. I was with DH the 1st time and yesterday I was with my DD. crafty_linda_b

Well, I'm just green with envy! The Walmart where I am doesn't have fabric, buy maybe there'll be some on our way from Texas to North Dakota. I hope!

I have a friend that works in the fabric department at WM. She says that at the end of March, they get their new designs so they need to make room by putting the older stuff on clearance. Mid April to the end of May is when they really start marking them down.

there was a lot of discontinued fabric half off last week here. They are remodeling and making room for new bolts. this store will have both bolts and precuts.
