Default Warped Cutting Mat?

Hi, All,

I made the mistake of storing my Dritz cutting mat in the back of my car during a recent move. It was in there about a week (I know, I know…) and it's all warped now. Is there a trick to save it? Or is it trash?

Thanks,
A

We have a pretty good search function. Here are few of the previous posts:

Haven't had any luck flattening mine, even though some have had success. Great time to read the posts about people's favorite cutting mats. I didn't know there were that many different brands.

I had one, and I put it outside on top of a flat surface with flat heavy rocks on it, and it flattened back out. I know there are a lot of approaches, but this worked for me.

It was great that PaperPrincess was able to find all the previous posts quickly. I can't see that heat will heal since heat is what caused the damage. Certainly ice sounds promising.

I wet my mat and put it under 'something' heavy. Wish I could tell you if it worked, but I can't remember where I put it. I've been looking for it for 2 weeks.

for future reference, Martelli makes a mat that does not warp. I just got one at quilt show so I can travel with it
They are not cheap, so I got a smaller one. It fit in my larger suitcase. I think I will use it alot in AZ!

I accidentally ironed mine and it warped one end. I bought a new one and put the warped one on my ironing board under a bunch of fabric. I intended to cut it smaller, but forgot about it. When I finally gat around to cutting it (probably a couple of months) it was flat. No heat, no ice, no water--flat as the day I got it.
