Hi Folks: this is my first time posting, please excuse if I goof up? I have never used washable wool batting. Do you have suggestions on advisability of this as batting and adequate spacing on quilting? Thanks so much for your help.

Who makes the batting? You might be able to check what they recommend on-line, if you know the maker. My only sourcebook advised that wool needs to be preshrunk, but that wool is as durable as cotton and won't "beard" as much as poly. Also that the biggest drawback is that a quilt with a wool batt should be laid flat to dry.

Thanks, Leslee. When the recipient heard about drying quilt flat - she said no way would the granddaughter do that. So we scraped the idea and went to Hobbs 80/20. Appreciate your help.
