I'm fairly new to quilting and have been a kind of "learn as I go" quilter. I want to make a quilt for my daughters up coming wedding in October. I would love any suggestions as to "Love" themed or "Wedding" themed patterns that aren't super difficult. I've been told the wedding ring or double wedding ring is not a good idea. Possibly the lovers knot.

It just depends on how big you are making it. if you are just making it the size for a small wall hanging or a medium wall hanging you might want to get a a little more ambitious. But if you are doing a bed quilt you might want to go more simple. My DH's step-granny made us a wall hanging quilt for our wedding. it was beautiful and simple. it has a boy and girl kissing on it. and something else. I have it in storage because I haven't figured out how to hang it up yet. I will have to find it and take a pic of it to post. Maybe that is something that you could do. She also embroyedered our names and wedding date on it. I had wanted to have people sign it at the wedding but couldn't find the right fabric pens for people to use.

How about using the same colors for the quilt as your daughter has choosen for the wedding?????
If you are new to quilting I would stay away from curves that's why the wedding ring pattern isn't a good idea.
You might think about a double Irish Chain.......
Hope this helps you.... ScrapQuilter

The double wedding ring is possible if you use the Quiltsmart interfacing and Quilt in a Day method .

You use the interfacing to make the arcs and then you sew that to a background fabric so you don't have all the angles to cut and sew

sewnsewer2 did one for her daughter in a week

Turning Twenty is the pattern I used to make my niece a wedding quilt. I made it oversized queen. Just added squares until quilt got to size I liked. I used black and white.

I like the double Irish chain pattern. It goes together so fast and is very pretty. What a wonderful wedding gift.
