Well, I have finally.........
joined the Feather weight club. I have been drooling over the pics of beautiful machines some of you have gotten, and I ended up buying a Singer 221K on ebay for $230.00. I hope that is a good price.
It came with a case (in decent shape), many attachments, foot control, and bobbins. When I got it I tried it out and it sewed very slow. My DH oiled and cleaned it, but it still ran slow, so took it to my Singer dealer and after a couple of trips over there, we determined that it had an incorrect size spring in the motor. He changed it out for me and now she runs like a champ.
I emailed the seller I bought it from and told him of the issues I had with it, and he refunded $30.00 which is what I had to pay the Singer dealer. So, color me HAPPY.
I named her "Lily" after my youngest DGD because she is so tiny and quite the spitfire!!

Wonderful! You are fortunate to have found a repair man who could diagnose Lily's problem. Have fun with her. Now do you need to find vintage machines to name after each of your other grand kids? I think so!
