I'm not a quilt snob nor even critical. This is just a general observation. I found a lap quilt some older ladies at church gave my dad many years ago. They took a large quilt and cut it up, not sure if it was in quarters or six, but it only has binding on two sides. The raw edges are turned in and blind stitched. I thought it interesting. They wanted to give something and took a big one and made many out of it. How kind they were! May God Bless each of them. I'm sure they have 'gone on' by now, they were up in their 80 back then, fifteen years ago or so.

    Just sharing this blessing,
    Ruth

I suppose sometimes you gotta make due with whatever you got. I'm sure their hearts were in the right place.

I'm sure their hearts were in the right place, but it kills me to see quilts cut up. It breaks my heart to see the "cutter quilt" auctions on eBay. I just want to rescue all of the old quilts. :-)

You are all so kind, thank you. This lap quilt has been in this house a long time. Don't know why I never noticed before.

Thanks Sue. I had it up before. A few years younger then, only a few.

Chubby, I love your 'Pinky'. I gave mom's pinky to a friend. It was an Atlas by Brothers, not a Singer. But fun having a sewing machine that you don't see every day, right?
    have fun with her.

    Blessings,
    Ruth
