Have fun with your new machine. I purchased the first embroidery machine that Bernina sold as I worked for a dealer at the time and got a great discount. Over the years I have invested a small fortune in software and thread. I now also own a Brother embroidery machine as it uses the same format PES as my Bernina machine. I will admit that these days I don't use either all that much but they make great decorations for family gifts etc. I have even made a quilt from elaborately decorated blocks. I have learned that I am lazy. The greatest invention I discovered is variegated thread. When the machine pauses for me to change thread I just hit the go button again. There are loads of designs that look just great sewn out in variegated thread. Florals, lacey designs etc. Everyone in my family has at least one item in their home or wardrobe that I embellished with my embroidery machines.

Good for you. I have embroidery machines and you can make some really awsome quilts and have fun doing and finding the patterns. Just go online and you will find more than you can ever use.

Bigredharley, which machine did you buy? I love my Brothers machines. I have two sewing machines. The 1500 and the INNOVA-IS 3000. (I think!) Love them both. Thanks. Yolanda Wood River
