Bought the Gone With The Wind series to make a bed runner. I ordered the fabric online and it is so bad the dyes do not even match. I went to my favorite quilt shop for a miracle. They saved my project but added cost. Second thoughts about buying on line and not seeing the fabric up close and personal, like you get in the fabric shops

That's just one of the reasons I don't buy online. I like to be able to look at it and touch it. You should have sent it back and got a refund.

The Gone with the Wind fabric a quilt member had at last meeting was very nice. Where did you buy it?

Oh, how disappointing for you. I've been lucky so far with my online purchases, but wouldn't hesitate to return an order if it wasn't as expected.

i have been buying fabric on line for over 12 years...once in a great while i receive something that is not up to par...i ALWAYS contact the place of purchase and let them know i am not happy and why...some have given me a store credit, some have exchanged it with something else i chose, a couple have said...oh well, that's the fabric...those are the ones i never go back to, the ones that at least try to fix the problem i give second chances. if the next fabric i receive from them is also sub-standard i make note to not buy from them. but for the most part i have had very good luck buying on line and have a huge stash and amazing variety of scraps to prove it ;)
so, don't write off all on line opportunities because of one bad apple. there are plenty of very good quilt shops on line that carry fabulous fabrics!

If the price is too good to be true when all others are higher in price for the same thing, double check what you are ordering and ask on forums about the shop's reputation.
