What does FMQ mean?

It stands for "free motion quilting". Here is a link to acronyms here on the board - http://www.quiltingboard.com/main-f1...rs-t84708.html
Hope this helps you out. I have to check some myself from time to time.

Free motion quilting is when you freely move the quilt sandwich through the machine and you determine the design and stitch length. It also applies to a long arm quilter moving her machine over the quilt sandwich in a free hand quilting design.
