I have a Q-snap from Jo Ann's. It doesn't take up much floor space when you are using it and then comes apart and back in the box between uses. I really like it. A good price with a coupon too!

Live a little and try it without a frame. Just pin profusely and go for it......I bet you will never look for another frame... :^)

How big is your quilt? I have very small hoops to big ones.
When I started I bought a PVC floor quilt from Joanns that you set up on the floor... I comes apart really easy and I store it in the box under my bed. I found that it was easier to use on large quilts. I wish I didnt have so many hoops because I really use them. For smaller projects I would rather spray baste and lay in my lap. I think it is much easier.
If you consider the floor model from joanns you can usually get it for 40 0r 50% off.
Good Luck.. I love to hand quilt
