I am going to a quilt retreat in the fall, and will need a mini iron to take with me. I have the Clover mini, but want something with a bigger surface. Does anyone have this Smartek Mini Iron? If so, how do you like it? http://www.clotilde.com/detail.html?...source=CQEDOTD

I have an iron that is made for traveling. The handle folds down and you can put water in it. I think this one may work for you. You don't want it to take up much room thats for sure.

I wouldn't recommend this one. Too light. I prefer the
SteamFast SF-717 Home-and-Away Mini Steam Iron. It's got some weight to it even though it's small. It fits nicely in your hand to allow you to put pressure where it's needed. Stores right in my machine carrier. Check it out on Amazon.

I have this one and really like it! It's perfect for paper piecing or getting into small areas. I use it when piecing blocks if I'm too lazy to haul out the big ironing board.

I have one and I hate it. It is way to lite... I love my old Black & Decker travel iron with the fold down handle and steam if I want it...

I have the one you have listed and I hate it. It's too light and the cord makes it filp on it's side too easily.
I like the one Lady-T posted. I have Amazon Prime so I don't have to pay any shipping. Think I'll order that one today.

I have the same one as Featherweight does. In fact, I think I have 4 of them. One in the travel trailer, one in my sewing machine travel case, one upstairs at work, one downstairs at work. Bought one, then picked up the others at garage sales.

I have the Steam Fast. I bought it at Tuesday Mornings on sale for $9.99 regular $39.99. I love it. My instructions said to use only distilled water in it so I bought a gallon and still using the same gallon after a year. Great little iron. It gets hot fast. I don't use steam that much but when I do it steams like crazy. So far no leaks at all.

I also have an older Black and Decker travel iron and I love it. Have had it several years and it still gets nice and hot.
