Default What is Queen Size?

What finished size do you make a queen size quilt and why?

Anywhere from as small as 75 x 75 to as large as 90 x 108. Depends on the design as I don't always follow a pattern. I am not as concerned about drop as some people are. I like for it to cover the mattress but if it doesn't that is ok too.

I have neutral chenille bedspreads on my beds and I make the quilts whatever size the pattern says. The quilts are then more of an accent. I like to change my quilts frequently.

I like them so they are long enough to cover the top mattress on the sides and the same amount of overhang at the foot. I like the top end to just come up to the headboard and go under the pillows. So it mostly depends on how deep the mattress is.

depends on the quilt pattern & mattress thickness. There's no set size I've made. All different.

Mine are so fatten 90" X 100" that just fits my bed nicely. If for someone else I ask questions...mattress size, height, amount of side overhang desired, pillow tuck? What ever else seems relavent and I make the quilt to fit what they want.

A queen mattress is 60 x 80, so I make my quilts as close as I can to 80 x 90. That is the mattress size plus a 10 in drop on both sides and at the bottom. If it happens to be a little more or less, it doesn't matter to me.

my daughters queen sleigh bed is getting an 84"x90"--she did not want it to cover the sleigh rails (said she paid well for that bed!) and since there's a foot board and didn't want the pillows covered, that's the size we measured.

I use to make my queen size quilts 90x108 because that was the size that Hobbs batting comes in.

My projects are for queen and twin. 2 queen and 4 twin. I've done crib size.
