I noticed under classifieds that someone advertised selvedges. What would you us them for? And also, I am getting a lot of small pieces left over from using the Go cutter. Is there a use for them?

I've also seen a quilt made from just selvages. As for scraps or small pieces. I was cutting strips that were 1/4" wide and then cutting them even smaller for a quilt last summer, that got fused together for two of the 8 blocks. Lots of tweezer work, but it turned out glorious.

How interesting! But, won't the quilts made with selvages kind of draw up?

Also if you ever want to do paper piecing especially the minis the small pieces are great for that.

A friend made a tote bag from selvages sewn to a foundation. It turned out real cute. She cut some of the selvages extra wide - around 3/4" to 1".

I have a clear plastic shoe box that I keep small fabric scraps in. I have used pieces as small as a postage stamp for the center of a flower, the center of a log cabin square, and for a trip around the world pattern. Don't throw away those small pieces because you can use them. I used 12 blue ones yesterday for the eyes of the victorian lady quilt I am working on. If you use a clear plastic box you can see very quickly what you have inside without having to open it. I label on top on the top -1 inch,2 inch. For the 3 and 4 inch scraps I have bigger plastic boxes.
