    I just finished a king sized with cream thread on a dark gray/black backing and love the final result. Sure it shows some wigglies, but the overall final look is great! But it's a look that I like! I hope someday you will try it and fall in love with it too!

    But lighter tonal works well too. Good luck with your project!

    I have found that a kind of gold...I use Honey by Connecting threads works well with both of these colors. I recently did some Osnaburg placemats with different colors all around some black and some red and some green and the gold just sunk into the cream and looked really nice and was very compatible with the other colors. I find using polyester thread also helps but they do make it in cotton also.
