I've made a quilt that is a Watercolor and due to the fact that its put onto this ruled fusible its waaaaay to thick to hand quilt for me. I know I have to machine it for the center but, here's my dilemma. Should I continue with machine quilting or do some hand quilting? My stitches are pretty good 10-12, but they will be different than the machine. What would you do?

That is completely up to you! If you think hand quilting would add to the quilt, or if you just want to do it,.....do it!! There are no quilt police...it's your quilt, your rules, or no rules.......In other words.....Suit yourself!

I have mixed machine and hand quilting on the same quilt with good results. But I have never stitched through the fusible by hand.

Let us know what you decide, and share pics, please!

I have seen a number of quilts that had a combination of hand and machine quilting and they were beautiful :D:D:D

Thanks!!! The reason for the question is my sister saw the quilt I did for mom and it was all hand appliqued and hand quilted. When we discussed her quilt and I told her that I didn't know if I was going to be able to hand quilt it because of the watercolor center, she seemed really disappointed! Trying to keep peace in the family.

If you think it would look nice with a combo of both, then do both. If your sister in law doesn't like it when it's done, then send it on to me! :)
