Smile need some input please...

I have been quilting for a while and am being drawn to make a quilt out of batiks. i was thinking I would try one using the "bali pops" or strips. Not too complicated and not huge...anyone have pattern and/or link suggestions? Thanks in advance for your guidance.

I just used this idea: http://incolororder.blogspot.com/201...ecing-top.html
I made HST's of warm/cool batik scraps and made a small quilt for my toddler.
It's SOOOO bright and cheery in the rainbow of colors I had.

I've used strips to make a pattern called "Jelly Donuts". It's here:
(The quilt, not the pattern - I bought that one.)

Another I did using "Yellow Brick Road" with a fat quarter bundle of batiks.

Put batiks in the search and you might find several.

I have no specific suggestions. Generally I don't use strips because I like to pre-wash for shrinkage. But with batiks, they've already been boiled so in theory there shouldn't be any shrinkage.

If you're like many others I know, you'll love working with batiks. I absolutely love them.

It would probably be a good thing to use batik for the backing. That way there won't be the "Stretch" that might come from using other cotton when it is quilted

I am fond of batiks period. Because good batiks are tigtly woven, there is little stretch, so they are ideal for PP. Any pattern you are already comfortable making would work well with batiks. Contrary to what I have read, I find them perfect for applique. The picture is my first all batik quilt. The picture does not do justice to the depth of color in this quilt.

Cut a square any size. If you want it bigger, make a HST with light and dark. Put dark strips on the dark side (or light on the dark side) and place in rows as desired. Add border if you want.
