Several weeks ago someone posted a beautiful quilt wondering what the name of the block was. Once it was answered I hunted down the pattern, bought the acrylic templates and spent the weekend trying to make the block for my swap partner. I have spent three days on the silly thing and I have a mess. The center went together fine, but the points at the top didn't quite match up and I have a ruffled mess.

SO, back to the quilting drawing board, I picked out two other patterns I know how to do and into the "extreme advanced quilting" goes that pattern until I figure it out.

Anyone else made that block that could offer suggestions?

I absolutely love working with curved seams. I posted a written tutorial a while back on how I sew curved seams:

I NEVER cut into the seam line! Too easy to mess it up and it isn't needed.

    Hope this helps.

Thank you so much, I don't think that it is so much sewing the curve as the center part was curved and turned out great. There is something about the top which has triangles that are sewn together to form the circle then pinned around the whole center piece. That is where everything went straight into the toilet. I think it is how I sewed the triangles together that lead to the problem.

I am about to put the whole template mess up for sale as I don't find the pattern enjoyable. However, I don't give up that easily and will go at it again when I am not so frustrated.
