Now that I stirred the subject of magazine subscriptions, how do you guys feel about Mark Lipinski being now the editor of Fabric Trends? I like Mark, but I liked him in Quilter's Home. It was his creation and the magazine was what he wanted it to be. Do you think he will change Fabric Trends? Is a very elegant magazine, very expensive. I am curious to see how he turns it.

Personally, I'm afraid of what he's going to do with it or to it. I don't like him, his style, his taste, or his attitude (I know I'm in the minority on all that). I don't subscribe to Fabric Trends, but I do buy it quite often and I like it a lot. I'll wait and see what happens, but I'm not very optimistic.

I am afraid because I am one who likes him, but in his own world. I am not sure I will like to see Fabric Trends being just a re-make of Quilter's Home, especially when Quilter's Home is still out there making a huge effort to continue being the magazine he made but failing at it.

You are not alone. He is a very controversial figure and those that like him love him, and the rest dislike him a lot.

Why do you think he's controversial? What does he do that I missed?

I think he's entertaining and I can imagine some find him annoying.

Now I've got to know who this person is. I've never heard of him which isn't really surprising.

i don't like fabric trends - i think it gives itself airs. and i don't like him. he's more of a showman than a quilter. so i don't care what he does to that magazine.

It's going to be interesting to see what he does there. I liked his magazine. Time will tell.

Wow!!! I must say that I truly loved him at Quilter's Home, I loved reading his stories, I honestly read the magazine, cover to cover, including the ads. I still have a subscription, though I must admit that I don't always even open the magazine now that Mark's gone. I've never read/bought an issue of Fabric Trends so now I feel I MUST just to see if I can see what the controversy is. Maybe one of my friends has an old issue before he came on board and I can compare the two issues. I'm going to call a couple now to see.

The issue on stands now is the last before Mark. You can still see.
