I have 2 Moda Charm Packs and one Jelly Roll from the same Moda fabric line that I would love to make a quilt from. I have searched endlessly on the Internet and did find one.

Does anyone know of any other patterns I could use? The pattern can include extra solid color fabric for sashing and borders, etc. .....Thank you for your time!

The quilt you found is beautiful. I would go with that one - free is good also. Otherwise there are many sites for block patterns if you are looking to design your own.

Thanks for the link, I saved it. I love quilts with a white background, so summery looking. I too think this is a great choice for charm packs and a jelly roll. Hope you post your finished effort.

I would check the www.Modabakeshop.com you will find so many different ways to use jelly rolls and charm packs -they have really easy patterns and its amazing how many different ways you can put them together. Another site that I like is www.sew4home.com they have some pre-cuts but they have wonderful ideas - I hope you find something to use for your pre-cuts.

Blinky--I have that pattern printed and set aside to use with some fabric I have. I am excited to do it. I am thinking of mixing up the blocks though (instead of grouping the same fabric blocks together--she uses the matching 4 patches and a different set of matching HST together--I think I want each of these 4 blocks to be different). When I get to that quilt, I am going to assemble all the 4 patches and HST first and lay them out mixed up first to see if I like that the best.

How big a quilt do you want to make?

I am making an approximately twin sized quilt out of one charm pack and a jelly roll from the same line, plus extra for borders.

I saw something on Youtube in the summer and just went for it.

I separated the colours into lights and darks. Then I paired up a light charm to a dark strip and the other way around a dark charm to a light strip. I tried to also make sure the prints were different scale as much as possible. Then I sewed the jelly roll to two sides of each charm, trimmed and then sewed it to the other two sides. I did not measure anything.

Then I took the left over jelly rolls and sewed them all together like a jelly roll race. If I had thought this step through I would have just sewed the long sides together, but I was not sure what I was going to do with them. I trimmed the jelly roll block into 2.5 inch strips and sewed them end to end. I used this as my first border.

For my second border I bought a marbly (sorry not a real word) fabric that worked with all the colours (took the quilt top to the store with me to choose).

I am not finished the quilting, I got side tracked, but I used my embroidery machine and sewed one of two medallions in the centre of each block.

I will try to post a photo when I am finished.

I made a quilt a few years ago using that same block pattern with a jelly roll and a whole lot more charm packs. I didn't add any other fabric to mine. It really makes a nice quilt and it's not at all hard to do. The main thing is to be sure and square up the HST and the four patches before putting the blocks together since you're using the pre-cuts.
