I made a quilt a few years ago using that same block pattern with a jelly roll and a whole lot more charm packs. I didn't add any other fabric to mine. It really makes a nice quilt and it's not at all hard to do. The main thing is to be sure and square up the HST and the four patches before putting the blocks together since you're using the pre-cuts.
