    Default A wise man said...

I have to share this. I was in Joann's at the cutting table, and the woman in front of me and the woman behind me both admired a floral flannel I had in my cart, which I'd found on the half-off red tag table. I said I really liked the fabric, too, but that I didn't need it, I just wanted it.

The first woman said, "My father used to say, 'If you want something that bad, then you need it.' He was a good man."

"Yes, he was," I said, and the woman behind me agreed as well.

I hope his wife was a quilter. A man with an attitude like that shouldn't be wasted!

I wish I could get my husband to think that way.

My husband feels that way too.

    Right now I *need* a HQ16 and he *needs* a BMW Z3.

    Will see who wins first

How wise of him. It is a real pick me up to get something you want.

Then there are DHs like mine who follow me into a quilt shop and "finds" things unlike anything I have and insists I buy them. What bums me is, after protesting and then buying, I find a use for them right away! He just says, "I knew you needed that!" Need I add that the quilt store ladies love to see him come in.

I don't think my hubby has ever seen a golf club "he didn't need"...he never says a word about fabric I bring home. Ha!!

DH and I are at the time of our lives that we don't need anything. All our buys are wants.

Is that way of thinking possibly a cousin to what I call "retail therapy"? :-) That is my favorite kind of therapy, and it is much cheaper and more fun...well, most of the time it's cheaper! LOL
