    When my best friend's DIL was pregnant, I made her a VERY simple little quilt(which isn't really a quilt). I took a piece a red fleece and appliqued some dalmatian and fireman squares on it and cut around the edges and tied knots. The little girl is in the second grade and when she gets home from school, the first things she does is get her "suckie blankie". She has always, from when she was a baby, sucked on the knots and there aren't hardly any of the applique blocks left on it. He grandmother(BFF) has offered to make her another one and she won't have it.
