Put one tablespoon of vinegar to a cup of water in a spray bottle. Spritz the fabric and get the iron. This is terrific! I saw a demonstration at a quilt show a few years back.

Sometimes batiks can still have residual wax left over in the fabric - in addition to the sizing - especially chops like those pictured. This can make them stiffer and definitely have more creases. Ironing on plain newspaper can help get the wax out - or washing with baking soda or worse case boiling in baking soda.
