    Angry X block

Has anyone used the X block temp? I just finished " Blueprints" and I could not get the temp. to line up no matter what I did. My seams were exact 1/4 as required. Nothing ended up on point. My friend is having the same issues.

I haven't done that pattern but I've made several X-Blocks quilts and haven't had any trouble. Are you using the right size template for the pattern? There are both 6-1/2" and 7-1/2" X-blocks templates, each requires you to cut different sized strips. Maybe you need the other size?

I have the pattern at my shop, and a sample quilt that someone else made for me, when I go to work tomorrow I can look at it and see if I can figure out the problem for you.

OK. X-blocks templates can be made on your own, if you want. It is easier to buy them however.

Andi R is correct there is more than just one size template ... I think the smallest is about 3 1/2".

Also. press the seams open and then the template won't wobble so much when it comes to trimming.

If you are in the Phoenix area, Zoe's Trunk [in Chandler?] has lots of resources for the different X-block quilts as they have done so many.

I purchased the X block a few months ago at a show and I made one quilt top. No problems at all to report here.

I have all sizes of the temp. I used the one that was required for my pattern 7.5. I will go to Zoos and see if they can help.

Some of my points were not accurate enough for me when I used the tool. However, will fudge the bits that are a bit wide in places and have another go now that I know the limitations.
