I got a book down from the shelves while at work today and read it while sitting at the desk and looked at all the illustrations. When i got home I made the hexagon block. You may be able to see my yellow dress makers pencil marking in the center to help me remember which way was up. LOL:)

I don't know. That was my practice block to make sure I could do it before I used my more expensive fabric. Those pieces were only 99 cents. Maybe I could turn it into a place mat. I don't know.

Thats because it is a twist on the log cabin. :) Igot it from a book in the library where I work so I would have something to look at while I am sitting at the desk.

    Here ya go.Its called:

The great American log cabin quilt book : complete patterns and instructions for making all types of log cabin quilts
    by Wien, Carol Anne.

They even have instructions for log cabin type blocks for triangles and diamonds and parallelograms.

Henry, I've never seen anything remotely close to this pattern. Thanks so much for sharing the title of the book and a pic of your work. It reminds me of a twist on the pineapple, but maybe that's just me.
    HOW COOL!
