Yes mam! I had this great artsy vest my brother gave me and I never wore it. I made a great purse from cutting it up and sold it for seventy five dollars for a drive 4 diabetes contribution. I also placed in a bag contest at a sewing place on line. So, it was well worth it and is now being used.

i'm happy to report that i found my solid burnt orange piece after my 3rd dip in the scrap pool... and it was truly a scrap... only had a crumb left after cutting my embellishments.

It probably won't happen much with me, but I recently donated a sundress to my stash. I made it myself and never wore it. Really it would look better as a quilt.

I think you know when you are a quilter when you lay in bed at night putting them together in your head.

I was making a t-shirt quilt for my SIL from Iowa Unv t-shirts. Was a t-shirt short so went to my husbands closet and found one that worked. I cut the front out and hung the rest back on the hanger. Should have heard him when he discovered the t-shirt. SIL loved his quilt!

I was making a baby quilt and needed a yellow that I could not find in any quilt store. My husband had a brand new shirt in his closet that was the perfect color and you know what happened. Yes, I cut it up for he quilt.

These posts tickled me until I read on. I have cut up old flannel shirts to repair a quilt and I buy nurses tops and cut them up. The smock tops come in the nice's fabrics and the cutest prints. The Larger the better. More fabric .

Have never cut up DH'S clothes or mine. Have admired other peoples clothing as possible quilt fabric but never resorted to cutting their clothes (especially when they were wearing them).

I do have DH's old jeans so the day is not far away. Never if they are still being used.

I've painted muslin in order to get that exact color that's not in my stash. I have not cut up any clothing tho.
