Default Your Help Needed! Material question

I am working on a new quilt. Now, I have beautiful white fabric that has like the design is stamped on it. My question to you is: Should I put the stronger (actually stamped) squiggles the showing side or should that strong stamp be on the in side. What I am concerned about is that the stamping might wear off???? I have put most of those features on the batting side for my other quilts because they were strong and showed through but wouldn't wear off. Is it okay to put the very quiet white on white outside or should I just go ahead and put it to the batting side and have a really subtle design on the white side. I personally like this one with the strong side out but don't want it to wash away - it is good fabric. Please help me with this question and issue....thank you so much for your help.

Personally, I wouldn't worry about the design wearing off, and would put the right side facing out.

It will all depend on the overall affect that you want to achieve. There really is no rules and you did pay for both sides of the fabric.

I've used literally thousands of yards of white on white fabrics, I have never had one ( wear off) I've never heard of anyone having that concern. Unless it is some fabric with the rubbery decal print like on t-shirts there would be no reason for it to wear away.

I bought some white on white at JoAnns and used it a quilt top. When I went back to buy more for the backing the sales lady said "You do know that will wear/wash off?". I was stunned because I had already used it in the top. Well after long arming ripping it out and long arming again and many washes the print is still there. Do what you like best.

As they say, you paid for both sides! I wouldn't worry about the design wearing off, so go with the side that gives you the effect you are after.

If you're using 100% cotton quilting fabrics, I have never had a pattern wear off and I do use mostly print-on-print type fabrics.
