    Default Zig Zag Stitch Binding

I am hoping someone can help. I have a Bernina 580. I am trying to sew a zig zag over my binding. It will stitch about 10 stitches then switches to a straight stitch. Anyone ever experience this?

Are you using the correct stitch? If you select a 'decorative' type stitch instead of a normal sewing one, with some machines you can choose to use it as a continuous stitch, or just one design and then the machine will sew normal straight stitch or stop altogether. Some zigzag patterns will taper off to one row of stitches. Hope you know what I mean. If you are sure you have the correct one I would ask your dealer, it may need repair.

I would review your manual. Sounds like you may have programed the stitch. Might be time to have it serviced. Usually if I have a problem, I turn the machine off to clear the memory and then turn it back on. Hope it is not a board problem. I have a 1530.
