I have NO problem going in a "Head" shop. When I was younger I use to go there all the time and buy "hippie" clothes. however I did find a piece of fabric, its the one on your link that says "Sold" mama...so thank you!
I bought some Batiks today and some fabric in bright colors that has peace signs on it..WILD colors but Im thinking she will love it! Her boyfriend plays in a rock band so Im sure thats where this is coming from. Kids..gotta love them!
I LOVE the picture of your great grandmother! I have so many pictures with no names on them. I can tell they are Gallemores because they look like that side of my family but just not sure who and noone left to tell me. Im stuck in New York in the early 1850's on my Hawkins side and stuck in the 1840's in Virginia on the Gallemore side...too many churches and court houses burned back then. It is FUN to search though. Thanks for everyones suggestions on the quilt and the comments about the finished Boom 6 and 7 ones. Im ready for Boom 9!

Here is the Civil War Quilt I am making. My question is its laying on a queen size bed here. It seems to be long enough but as you can see it doesnt hang over much on the sides. the blue flags on each side are at the edge and there is a 5" beigh piece and a 4" grey flag piece on all sides. Would it look "off" to put another piece on only the two sides or should I just leave it as is? Sorry the cell phone picture is so bad...cant figure out how to resize my regular camera pictures so they will upload!

Hello ladies, I am just stopping by to say Hi, I am loving this! I am being Grammie with my energetic 3year old, Charleigh, she is running me ragged! I got here Friday morning and I am realizing how much I am not the energizer Bunnie!
But I truly love her dragging me around(Today I am the monster Dragon and she is the princess!)
OK time to go will try to check in again! Melinda (Nexxus) I can't wait to meet you! I will call sometime tomorrow, I think today is going to be jam packed full! Birthday part at Noon at the corn maze! Come on by with you kiddo's if you want!

Add to the sides tell you why I have one i made plenty long enough hangs just like yours over the side. Looks great all made up, but when you climb in to use it, its not long enough and you get cold onthe side just my experience anyways. All that work wish I had gone for the extra side piece. too late after it was professionally quilted.
THAT PiCTURE IS AMAZING and boy I love the matting it has one it.. those old cardboard frame ups are so wonderful they make a pic. My great aunt did my fathers family tree back to the late 1700's on the east coast, ship builders. It is amazing to follow a trail backwards. My kids grandparents came in through Ellis Island and are on the official registry. pretty cool. Those pictures are pieces of the past. I think they are a grand treasure. Mine are out on display all year but I was fortunate enough to have writing on the back of each one saying who it was and what year. Someone was thinking way back then.
