Diamonds or no diamonds ...
#1

Last year I did one of the swaps and requested the "Louisiana" block from Quilter's Cache.
Now I'm in the process of squaring up some of the swap blocks (know some are so wonky I'll have to make more to substitute in their place as there isn't hope of saving them
) and put the diamonds up to see how they look to break up the white spaces where the blocks join. These are black with little white flowers on them, not solid as they look in the photo.
I'll have to sew a corner on all 4 sides of each block if I want this effect...essentially a snowball block. More work but I think I like it
Opinions of yeah or nay on corners with the black added please.

It certainly adds more interest. I would if it were mine find a color less dark and snowball the corners or go scrappy with colors that closely match all the colors in the block....But either way it does add more interest with snowballing the corners

Yeas. It really adds a whole second pattern. I might play with other colors as briny suggested. Cut out as many random scrappy squares from the fabrics you cut black, then cover up the black ones to see the effect. I'd like to see that variation before deciding.
