I'm looking for a 60 degree diamonds...they are used to make the blocks that look all cubicle and dimensional. Anyone know where I can find a pattern that uses them along with a template?

I made my own to do the "tumbling block" quilt. You can use the 60 degree angle on your ruler and a piece of paper. That way you can make it any size you need.

If you need some additional help, pm me. I might be able to make one and email it to you. If need be, I can draw them and snail mail them for you. Would just need the size (how long you want a side to be).

I bought one a Joanne Fabrics a couple of years ago. It's about 6 inches in size tip to tip. I don't recall the price. But I'm sure it wasn't very expensive.

The ruler is easy to find. Here is the one I use. Check out the pattern design sheet and how to on the website. Sew two triangles together to make the diamond. It's great for the Tumbling Block pattern.

Buying a ruler is out for me...I'm not allowed to spend anymore money right now. :( Soooo...I do have this cutting mat that has pictures of shapes on it. The mat is called Quilting Mate by June Tailor, INC. That is where I saw the 60 degree diamonds...but it's impossible (at least to me it is) to transfer it to paper to make a template. I'm wondering how I can do this now.

you don't need anything more than what you already have.

you can cut a diamond from a strip of fabric and a standard ruler that has degree lines and the degree lines of your mat.

here's the directions.

Take a coffee filter, cus it's see through, iron it flat with no steam, lay it over the diamond shape, and either trace with pencil or cut with your cutter :)
