If you would like, I can change out this border I would be glad to do that. If you find it too busy I can change it for something plain & simple.
Thanks.

Yes I have yours. I found the perfect fabric for the border!!!!!!!
I buried my quilting room last month finishing the spare bedroom in the basement. All the stuff from the spare bedroom went into the quilting room. I almost have the machine unburied and will get yours finished this week.

Here goes - this is my addition to Elles centre from Group 1. This was a hard one for me as I wasn't too sure whether to try to do some appliqued Japanese writing along each side. Anyhow after so deliberation I decided upon a plainish border with some blocks added in. All I hope is Elle's approves.

Just a hint about what I learned on this round. The tiny strip borders we
see on quilts is not just for looks. When doing a border that has to
match in the corners or end a certain way (like this one you have to end
each row with two small squares which conect to a large square in the
corners. So first you get the measurement of the repeat (one large sq and two small sq.) then measure your quilt. Divide that by the repeat,
if it does not divide equal. You have to add the small border all the way
around, to make it come out equal. These strip or small border are refered to as coping strips. In a nut shell you are adding coping strips to bring you quilt up to the size of the borders.
Hope this makes since. If you need pictures and print instrutions, you can find them in a book I have called "The Border Workbook" by Janet Kime. I bought mine online. Amazon.

Love your boarder. I order the book yesterday after seeing your post. My SIL has asked me to finish a quilt top that her grandmother made. That boarder will look prefect on it. Plus it will increase the size of the quilt to queen size so she can use it on a bed if she wants. I might be emailing you for help if I don't understand the instructions. :-) If that's ok.
