We are in a valley/basin at the foot of the southern most tip of the Rocky Mountains and we almost never get harsh weather. In 2010 we had a storm that brought us a low of 15 below zero and the utilities had sold all of our natural NM gas to other states, there was NO way to heat our homes (by gas anyway) and we spent 3 days huddled around our fireplace. All 8 of us in one bedroom, at night, piled on top of each other to create heat. Not a winter we will soon forget. No one in NM is prepared for that, unless you live up in the Mts.

We actually have snow falling right now. We won't get much, I don't believe, but enough for the kids to enjoy until it melts. I lived in SD for almost a decade and had enough sub zero weather and snow to last me two life times. lol I do not miss it.

For everyone living where Mother Nature can be unpredictable please stay safe and stay warm!
I used to travel that road every weekend and at that place there are cross winds and I guess they had squalls and then ice. My DS just called me to say that the roads here are frozen so I'll be waiting until it warms up and starts to rain before I go out today. It looks like snow and real cold temps for next week. Just as I have to start babysitting again.

Dwina, what are magazine boards? And how do you use them? I'm always on the lookout for something that will organize my stash. Every time I think I'm "organized", I go looking for something, can't find it, go shopping for it, find it later, etc. I spend more time spinning my wheels than I do producing anything! Any thoughts on organization are greatly appreciated!

Dwina I have got to do some organizing of my sewing area for sure. I have a mess left from trying to get some things made right before Christmas. I can't stand sewing something new with a mess there. I am trying to put some scraps in some tins, etc.

Did any of you hear about the small plane that crashed? There was a little girl who survived, but her family was killed. She walked about a mile until she reached a house of this man who helped her until authorities arrived. He thought she was so brave.

I am hoping to get some sewing done today. I have my dining room table all ready to use right now. Nothing in my way on it so I might use it a bit until I get my other room cleaned up, and organized. We have rain today.

Hope you all have a good day, and great week ahead. Stay away from the flu. lol....

raining here and expecting severe stoms later.
Most of my fabric is in the form of scraps. about 4-5 bins full. most not more than a fat 1/4. so I have a hard time arranging them.
my plan for after the mystery scrap is to cut it all into 2 1/2" strips and 6" sqs. from there I will subcut. that is my plan. Just a plan, doesn't mean i'll get it done. with stuff that small, most of you would throw it out, i'll make scrap quilts/
try to organize it down to colors from there I guess.

Ok, I have started cutting out for my pincushion to work on today, and then will try to get it finished tonight. Tomorrow hopefully will get the needle book finished.

It's raining here too and 40 right now. There was a 20 car pileup 25 miles south of me when it was really icy out. It's going to be 53 tomorrow morning so I guess no snow tomorrow. I went by the ski hills and they were closed. They had made snow and were open for a few days but it's starting to melt with the rain. I have no fabric organization and I'll leave it at that. This is my hexagon doll blanket that I made my NH friend for her small dolls. Then I made her daughter a mug rug and they were laughing when they saw it as she met her now boyfriend on eHarmony. Now I'm starting a hexagon wallhanging.
