glossie junkmil is the stuff you get that is firmer than paper. it holds up great
for the epp it slides out when done very nicely and holds it's shape for 4-5 uses.

I've been toying with the idea of making, (i have in the past) THE PINCUSHION
with the thread catcher attached to it, kinda the kind that people use with a serger.
it has the pc on the top and hanging below is a bag that catches threads and such. is
there any interest in something like that?? I know a lot of you don't use a serger to quilt,
but it's good by a regular machine or for hand sewing on the couch. any opinions please????

Lynnie, I'd heard about these but never knew what one was. Did a quick google search and now I know! I think, first of all, anyone who quilts can always use something like this! (What I really need is something that keeps all of the stray threads and small crumbs of fabric off of the seat of my pants when I walk out the door. My DH has started to think it is a new fashion trend!)

Anything that you put your loving and skilled hands to would be greatly appreciated by me! (AND one of the rolled needle cases.) Hey, if we're statin' 'druthers I just thought I'd throw that in! lol

Those type of pincushions are very handy if you go and sew at a friends, retreat, guild and home. Keeps all trash threads, bits of fabric and don't forget choc candy wrappers.

Lynnie I was thinking the same thing. That's too funny! I even downloaded a pattern today to make one.

Lynnie I have one of those by my sewing machine, will take a picture tomorrow so people can see what you are talking about... I didn't realize they were suppose to be for sergers as I have been using mine for 6 years by my machine... How are you feeling today, spent the day with a friend from church, her two girls were suppose to come with her but they weren't feeling great so they stayed home. We had a nice afternoon. She brought over her larger hexie cutter and cut out a bunch for me...

Rosemary, what size hexies? after doing a bazillion 3/4" I want to do the 1" ones next.

You could use those bag/pincushions for anywhere. I use it on the couch coz lets face it, those
little tinfoil balls that you make after unwrapping the hershys kisses ake a mess. so do the
threads. made one out of quilted fabric, came out really nice. added pompoms too. Cute.

still not 100%, how much longer with this ickyness? I hate it.

Here is a picture of the one that I downloaded the pattern. I liked this because it has a detachable pincushion.
