can someone tell me about the folded star center pieces. i'm thinking of making them as gifts, how do you think they will ship?
can they be folded in half, or would i have to get a bi box which will be cost prohibitive. thanks for any info. I just love them and think they are all so beautiful.

I just tried to fold mine Lynnie so I could answer your question. Answer....no. I think if you'd try to ship them folded up they would arrive really out of shape. The 2 pieces that come together on top, like where you see some with a little bead or button sewn on, they curve together and that is what would be out of shape. I store mine flat and use empty toilet paper rolls in the curves to keep the shape. You could make yourself one and try to fold it to see what you think. My bet is that you need a box. They don't hang very well either, after time the weight of itself pulls it out of shape.

Thanks Jaba. It would have made nice gifts, but then they are out shape .
a flat box would cost to much to ship it, with all the popcorns in it.
and I'd have to ship 3 of them. it's a no go. Thanks for the info.

Kass that is so cool. I love black and white.

Lynnie - when we swap at the end of June, my swappie is going to get a 3D wreath in addition to her wall hanging. They were fun to make so I actually made several to give out. I will ask that she give feedback on how it arrived because I am going to ship folded in half - unless Jaba - did you come up with a way to ship in an envelope?

Wow JNCT14 that is really great. Everyone will want to be your partner. The bookcase quilt plus the wreath.

Haven't found a way yet. It crushes the folds when you try to fold it flat

Interesting, Kass. Now where is this theme headed?

I have been working on organizing my scrap piles and found this in the mix. The date on it is 1998, OMG. Now I have to finish it, so I don't have to work on the scraps! LOL

This 5" stack of blocks were started in 1998, when I first started quilting. I put them away, not liking them. I really like the block but not my work on them. I am going to take them apart and remake them. It is true we do get better with practice. These blocks have every sewing nightmare possible in them. Crooked seams, over pressed creases, cut off points, heavy seams and varying sizes.

So much material invested I just can't let it go.

Here is the start of the re do and so far I love it. The blocks will finish at 2.5" sq.

Looking up from my work at just the right moment gave me this beauty to watch for about 15 minutes. Corn seems to be a favorite of wood ducks and fox!

Always busy with one project or another!
peace
