Nope not a hanger, but I couldn't make it work anyway so I took it out.

Here is an update on the bookcase wall hanging WIP. Once it is done I will try to put together a set of detailed instructions, but for those who want to wing it, here's the general;

5 rows, each row consists of 3 blocks, about 8.5" high by 10.5"long. Feel free to add strips if you want a larger wall hanging. Everything is 1/4" seam allowance.
Each of the rows EXCEPT the top row has a 2" wide by length of row strip of a dark color sewn to the top of the row (I used blue).
The borders will be the same dark color, but the strips are 2.5" wide by length and width.
I used varying strip widths for the books: 2.5", 2.0", 1.5", 1.0". I varied the height from the full 8.5" height to 7.5", 6.5", 5.5" and 4.5". The mating background strips are round numbers plus 1/2". For example, to achieve a full 8.5" strip with a 6.5" strip, add 2.0" plus 1/2" = 2.5". this will equal 9" but once you sew together with the 1/4" seam allowance, the finished length will be 8.5".
You can also do strips on the diagonal, horizontal strips, or stacked squares. It will vary depending on the look you want.
Add any embellishments you like. I appliqued pieces that I had drawn but you can use photo transferred items, fussy cut pieces, folded origami - anything you like.
I plan on doing Stitch in Ditch quilting in order to give the books dimension, and diagonal lines for the background.
Just lovely! I like every thing you did with it so far. There is so much to see on the shelves. Great job please keep posting as you progress.

I just want to wish you all a Merry Christmas or Happy Hanukkah!! I am so pleased with how well all of the wall hangings turned out!! We have an excellent bunch of quilt swappers!! THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR PARTICIPATING IN MY SWAPS!! I can't tell you how much it means to me to know you are all involved in keeping this swap alive.

I know there was a lot of waiting involved this last month. Partly due to international mailing and partly due to being a high volume of mail at this time of year. Your patience has been much appreciated!

I hope you all have a great holiday and start a wonderful new year in a few weeks.

I'm posting this here and in the ongoing swap. THANKS TO YOU ALL PAST AND PRESENT SWAPPERS!! Rhonda

Happy holidays to everyone! It's coming fast! I'm working on a blooming 9-patch right now in batik - shades of green / blue ... fabric is absolutely stunning!

If I have enough left overs I might make a mini one for this wall hanging swap ... I'll know more after christmas when I'm almost done it!
