November 2017 to February 2018 Wall Hanging Swap

Welcome to our Wall Hanging Swap!

You have 4 months to make a wall hanging of your choice.

Size and Type of Wall Hanging:

A wall hanging should be smaller than a lap quilt but larger than a mug rug.
You can use any technique/ any style / any colors.
Embellishments are a fun way to add to your wall hanging if you like

    Sign Up list

    There is no deadline.
The Sign Up list is just to see who is interested in joining us.
But please remember that the only list that counts is the Ready to Mail list at the end of the 4 month swap.

    Ready to Mail list

Ready to Mail list will be posted the middle of February 2018.
If you are not on this list you will not get an address to send to.
Deadline - Midnight central time last day of Feb 2018

    I Need:

    Real name
    your address
    send international or not
    Allergy info
    Pet and smoking information
    Would like an email address
    Phone number would be appreciated

As long as you have a wall hanging ready to mail you can join us any time up to midnight on the last day of February!

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Addresses Sent Out:

I will be sending addresses to each swapper at midnight of the last day of February!!

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

You will then send your wall hanging to the quilter who's address you get.
You will receive from a different quilter than the one you send to.

This is not a partner swap.

    IMPORTANT:

Please send me a pm when you mail and when you receive!!
Only those who send me a pm to let me know they are ready to mail will be on the mailing list.
Anyone who is not done on time may enter theirs in the next swap.

    Please Post Pics of:

    Your fabrics
    Embellishments you are using
    Progress pictures
Finished wall hanging - since noone knows who gets what -not even me-there is no surprise ruined by posting your pictures.

Prewashing or not is up to you

I hope you decide to join us and have a lot of fun!!

Please make sure to read the general rules that apply to all swaps here at the Quilting Board:http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-20154-1.htm

I am thinking since we don't mail until the end of February I will do something for the month of March maybe use some greens or maybe something to do with ST. Patrick's Day. Does anyone else have an ideal of a theme.

So some of things being celebrated in March are

    1. pig day, peanut butter day 2. old stuff day, red cross day, DRESS IN BLUE DAY 3. National Anthem day, happy day,

celebrate wine day 5. Cheese Doodle day 6. Oreo cookie day, white chocolate day 12. plant a flower day 13. jewel day

    14. learn about butterflies day 17. National Quilting Day 19. Lets laugh day, poultry Day 20. Spring begins 29. Lemon Chiffon cake day 30. Walk in the park day.

This could give some ideas to work with for a March themed project.

I am going to try using old stuff, wine, lemon chiffon and butterflies

Here is a peek at an idea in the works. it has nothing to do with the ideas I posted earlier which I am also working on. With all the hours I am working it is tough to find time for sewing. That will all change after Christmas when hours will be cut back a bit.

Since I last posted my DH hit a deer so my car needed a slight repair of 1,500 bucks most of which went for a car rental and deductible. He is now adding the rental insurance back to our policy, "face palm", agh.

A tree tried to escape the woods, tripped and fell onto our power and phone lines. Still have power but it took the pole off the house from the box. Insurance will pay for this! The phone company came right out and repaired that line within hours. They had to check the whole street. Power company scheduled for Monday, I hope it holds!

The best part of my four days off was deciding to be part of Bonnie Hunters mystery quilt "On Ringo Lake". I am half way through the first clue, 50 scrappy 9Ps.

Hope Thanksgiving was a peaceful time for everyone.

    I like this Ube.....very nice.
I bought a ruler/template from Creative Grids with the intention of using it for a wall hanging. That was last summer. I found the ruler but couldn't find the pattern I had printed out so never did it. Well, I found the pattern so that is what I'll do for the next swap. It's sort of a butterfly. I think it may have a little hand embroidery with it and that is something I don't do so I guess I will have to give it a try.
    Sew many Quilts.......so little time!

Well, I decided to try a more modern quilt (at least modern to me). I combined hand sewing with machine applique and quilting. It was an adventure and I learned a few things. Sorry can't post a picture, but think of hexie flowers. I have my wall hanging completed and ready to be mailed.
Also, wanted to wish everyone Happy Holidays, just in case I don't get back to the board before then.

I think I will try to find more time for the QB so this is a good way to do it. I am thinking my WH will be a wildlife one and want to be reminded so put me on the list and since I have commented here, I will see when other folks comment and that will give me an incentive to get it done by end of Feb.
She who dies with the most fabric, didn't sew fast enough!
