Hi All :-D ,
Hope your all as excited as me for this !! Looking at the map were making a big o spiral, cool huh! Will try to be a good Point Person, communication will be the key. Feel free to contact me can send a P.M. E-mail or we can work off this thread. Any ideas for a name? Group 7 in order B.zang C.Cal Quilt Girl Jodimae mswordwiz NorBanaQuilts Judy G |
I know I am excited. This is just way too cool. Names are hard to pick. How about something like "Quilting Across the Borders" or "International Quilting Sisters"? I'm not too good at thinking up things like names.
I'm working on my label today. Has anyone already done their label? |
my label is still in photoshop, I am still playing with it ...
My center is done, I have to go out and buy a new dig camera this week. How about Quilting Across the Globe? I am so excited for this to start! By the way Call me Nay.... |

I am attaching my center and a picture of my planned label. I won't embroider the label until we pick a name and I can put it on there, but thought I'd see what you think.
Although my center block is square I am hoping that maybe in round 1 or 2 the person working on it could just add a top and bottom border, making it into a rectangle. I was going to take off the side rows myself, but then I would lose the pinwheels and I don't want to do that. I did see in RR-II where one of the quilts just had top and bottom rows added in the first round. It's not a huge deal and I don't want to put any pressure on anyone, but if it works out, that would be great. If it doesn't and I end up with a square quilt, not a big deal. Oh Judy... That is pretty, I have some prettys that will work well with this !!! And the labels Great :)
Still working on my label. b.zang will have you first, but I don't mind adding in next round if needed. This is going to be fun !! :) |
Thanks, Carol. It is going to be fun. If you're using the one you posted on the other thread, It's going to be really nice. I am trying to keep pictures of everyone's center, so I can plan ahead a little. We will be heading for AZ in October for the winter, so I need to see if any of my stash here might work and take it down with me just in case cause I don't have much fabric down there. Would be a big shame if I had to buy all new fabric for every round
|
LOL Judy, I cannot wait to see everyone's centers either. This week is digital camera shopping, then I can post my center!
|
Will repost here soon, smart thinking on being prepared! I'll have to go back and see if anyone else has posted pictures, You are a luck lady cool in the summer, warm in the winter!! :)

Hey Everyone, this will be my first RR, I am a little nervous but am ready to get started. Can't wait to see the quilts start coming together. I am still working on my label but I am posting my center. I love the southwest look and collect arrowheads so that was my inspiration for my center. I am very easy to please!! As for a name for our group maybe something with" Ladies Sew Lucky" in the title? Jodi

Jodi, I love your center. I had thought about a southwestern center myself for our Arizona place, but glad now that I didn't. We wouldn't want to be working on two so much alike. Love the colors in yours. Will be thinking hard. I've been downloading pictures of all the finished Round Robin II quilts to get an idea of what people do for borders. I'm not nearly as accomplished in applique as a lot of them, but might get brave enough to try if a quilt coming here looks like it could be used there. I am trying to expand my horizons this year by doing things just a little out of my comfort zone and I feel I've really grown as a quilter just since joining this board and working on some of the swaps. I think that's why I'm so excited about this round robin - way outside my comfort zone but I feel I will learn a lot and make some really good quilting friends.

Judy, I've seen some of your applique and it is gorgeous. I don't applique but love it, I will have to give it a try someday. I love your center too, and will be honored to work on all of them.

Here's my center again, so it's all on one thread ! :)
|
OMG - what a talented group I've been placed in!!!
Beautiful centers showing up. You're all going to have to keep waiting for mine. My pattern just arrived by mail and now I have to go buy fabric and then sew it. One month left. How quickly that will fly by! I like the Lucky 7 bit about our group as well. So, lucky ladies suits me, too. |
On your RR do you all supply your own fabric to travel with the center. Or does each person add to the quilts with there fabric
|
Carol your center is pretty, lots of color. Is it a fan?
Barbara you have time. Can't wait to see your center. |

Ok Ladies, This is the label that I have been working on..now I'm not sure I like it. I don't want a paper one, or a white one. I want it to match my center, and all hand written. Saved a space for our name when we decide. Jodi
|
I am so excited to get started!!
|
Love the way you did your label Jodimae.
|
Just popping in to check out everyone else. Thanks for label ideas. Jodi, I think yours is just so clever.
|
Sorta a Fan never get the degree correct, then covered up the top edges w/bias, and the bow to cover the center, the zig zag helped to bring it all out. It's a little off shape 24 x 21.5 hopefully that won't cause problems, Tried to go with a variety of colors, to give you all open color choices, I'll be happy with however it comes out, so no pressure here, have fun with it. :)
b.zang... We'll catch you when it's ready, just post :) |
Carol I don't think the size should be a problem.
|
Jodi,
I am so happy that I get to work on your block first, I would like to ask the size of the block, so when I hit my LQS this week I can have an idea in mind what to get. Do you have anything in mind for this block? |
Nay, My center is 19 3/4 X 19 3/4 I don't know how it ended up being an odd measure but it will be alright. I really don't have any ideas for it other than Southwest look. I am not hard to please at all, anything you decide will be fine with me. Looking forward to working on yours too.

do you want to stay with a southwestern feel ? I am thinking of either a braid or a mosiac border for the first round....
|
Either will be fine with me...do what ever you think will fit it best.
|
Does everyone on our group want to see pictures of their quilt as it goes along? I sure do. I saw on one group that a member doesn't want to see her quilt til it's finished. That's fine for her, but I would go crazy. I love watching them as they grow. What about the rest of you?
|
I most definatly DO want to see mine, I would go crazy too.

During the last IRR I participated in, I created a file in my computer and saved everybody's quilt picture in it as it was posted. It's a lot of fun to have them all together, then with a click of the mouse, watch each quilt grow to a whole top. Very impressive. |

Barbara I like that idea of saving them all in one folder, I'm gonna do that too.
|
Lets Double Check with all...
Is the name O.K. with all ??? Do we all want to see our Rounds as they are finished ?? Any thing else we need to touch on it sounds like will soon be moved to the virtual section, Just click on virtual and it is set up like the click and go we do now. :) |
The name is ok with me...
I want to see my center each round. |
Name is great and I definitely want to see mine each round.
|
The name works for me as well, and of course I want to see pics!! this was my excuse for getting a new dig camera!
